About VIGOR

A young organisation with a clear method: use movement, learning and community to give young people something real to do with their energy.

V / 01 Our story

It started with people who kept showing up.

Before VIGOR existed as an organisation, its founders were already in the work: volunteering at sports events, leading groups in Erasmus+ projects, facilitating sessions, organising community activities.

They kept meeting the same gap. Young people in Sofia have energy and curiosity, but not always a structure that turns them into skills, confidence and opportunities. Sport was the obvious common language, and non-formal education was the method that made it count.

VIGOR was registered to do that properly: with a legal structure, a team, a framework and the ambition to work across Europe rather than only locally.

Enthusiasm.

Vigor is the strength to keep going, the energy to begin, and the enthusiasm that makes other people want to be part of it. We chose the name because it describes what young people already have, and what our work is designed to direct.

To create opportunities for young people through sport, non-formal learning and grassroots initiatives that strengthen well-being, inclusion, skills and active participation.

Young people first.

VIGOR works with local youth, students, young people in need and young people with fewer opportunities, including those facing economic, social or geographical barriers. We reach them through schools, sports clubs, community centres and youth organisations across the Sofia region.

Open for European cooperation.

VIGOR is a newcomer organisation in the Erasmus+ framework, and our founding team has practical experience across Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps projects: local events, final conferences, small-scale partnerships, youth exchanges and learning mobilities.

We are looking for partners for youth exchanges, training courses, solidarity projects and sport initiatives, and we can host activities in Sofia as well as send participants and group leaders abroad.
